Our secure key holding and alarm response service is available to residential and business premises of all types including industrial units, commercial offices, community buildings, retail outlets, entertainment venues, clubs and legal premises.
We securely hold our clients keys in accord with British Standards Codes of Practice. This means that sensitive information is not carried with the keys to indicate the name or address of the premises to which the keys belong. In addition, confidential information about clients premises such as intruder alarm codes, contact names and telephone numbers are not carried by our Guards, or in our response vehicles.
Upon notification of alarm activation, our Monitoring Centre would immediately instruct one of our response units to attend site.
On arrival, an external site patrol is carried out, checking for signs of forced entry. In circumstances where an intrusion had occurred, our people would preserve the premises as a scene of crime, immediately notifying local Police and the client. Upon client instructions, we would maintain a Guard on site until either boarding up/repairs are carried out, or a member of staff arrived to reinstate security.
If however there was no indication of intrusion, our Guard would enter the premises and establish the cause of the alarm activation, typically, insect activity at a PIR station, or a window left open and paper found fluttering in a draught. In the event of such a ‘false alarm’, the cause would be remedied, a report is written and an alarm reset is carried out, with the premises secured on departure.
Customers may prefer using their own key holders to attend alarm activations, employing VSS in support on a ‘hold hands’ basis – so as not to place their own people at risk.
Conversely, a fully delegated service is the option, where the customer remains undisturbed and a report is provided the following morning.
